About: Long Island has been a hotbed of corporate charter school activity in the past few years, and communities and public schools are starting to feel the worst effects of their growth.

Inspired by rapid growth in charters, and proposed new charter schools in Riverhead and neighboring towns, the group created their own grassroots campaign of concerned community members to push back.
